Ah ha! NOW I know where those amazing mugs came from! Eighth Day Books is a wonderful adventure in itself. I have spent a lot of time, and money, browsing and enjoying selection of amazing books for all ages and all interests. The "Hobbit Hole" is found down a winding staircase in the lower level - a place for children to find that perfect book, or in this grandmother's eternal search for the favorite gift for a grandchild - a treasure of great ideas. There are real handmade journals - with beautifully crafted old-fashioned pages and leather covers; cards that inspire and are always "just right". So many gift ideas and books from the newest to very, very old and classic. Eighth Day is a pleasure to experience, and a favorite visit when we are in town. Other times, I order from them online or over the phone. The mugs are absolutely a work of art! I have not been able to decide which style I like the best.
Perhaps more than one is in my future. lol
Thanks for bringing Eighth Day Books and Warren to the attention of your blog. They are an incredible "last bastion" of real book stores. Not an e-book in the place. I hope you will get to visit them in person one day too. P.S. Warren's wife Chris sells Fatoush dressing spices of her own making there too, and they are great!

This blog entry couldn't have been more perfect!!! Independent bookstores are becoming a rare thing these days as more and more chains and Amazon.com find ways to offer more at less. But, there's a charming quality that cannot be surpassed at smaller shops.
